Installation, mixed media
Finish Me is a site-specific installation composed of objects that represent both fake and real architectural elements, which absurdly and inappropriately complement the existing interior.
Dimchev developed this work in the context of the widespread decay and destruction of cultural monuments in Bulgaria over the past decades, as well as the fear of the upcoming restoration of the Banya Starinna. Architectural monuments and valuable historical buildings in Bulgaria are often associated with inadequate restorations, questionable additions, devaluation, and harmful modernization. All of this fits into the urban architectural environment from the recent decades, which is saturated with poor-quality renovations, eclectic exploitation of various architectural styles, fake props, and confusing references. Dichev invites reflection and civic vigilance.
